Happy Holidays!

So its another Memorial day, filled with sleeping in and the traditional afternoon party with some friends from church. It was nice to be able to sleep in for once and not have to work. As much as I like working at the bike shop, it does start to drag on when you're doing 40 hours each week.

Had an absolutely amazing time in Canada Saturday night! I drove over to Ben's house out in Ferndale and met up with him, his friend BR, and Kristen and then we headed across the border. Once we made it through customs, our first stop was at the casino. After about 10 minutes of trying to find a parking spot in the structure we went inside. We all got through the ID check fine except for Kristen because she only had one peice of ID with here and the damn Canadians wanted two. We didn't want to leave her behind so we decided to hit up the town (plus we saved money anyways). Hung out in downtown Windsor for a while and met up with Allison, Hilary and the gang for only like a minute and then we went to Pepper's Bar and Grill for the rest of the night. We had originally planned on meeting up with them again later that night but it was impossible to communicate with anyone because it was so loud. Nonetheless I had an awesome time. I'm glad Kristen came and we were able to hang out because I hadn't seen her since March. Well, time to go work out now and get buff, IM me if you want pictures from the night.

The weeks are going by like pages flipping in a book

Can't believe I'm already finishing up my third week home for the summer. Seems like I was just packing everything up at CMU to come home. Wow how the time does fly.

Been a pretty good week, consisted of: sleep, work, hanging out at Conor's house... then repeat. Worked 42 hours last week, 37 hours this week.. tryin to get my bank rollin. Went over to Scott's tonight and watched the movie Paycheck you guys should definitely check it out. Kept me guessing the whole time. By the way, found out the other day that Ben Affleck is a huge tech geek -=just like me. Hmmm maybe we have something else in common, besides our good looks! (jk, jk.. I'm not THAT arrogant)

So as you can see I haven't been up to a whole lot. For the weekend? Working again tomorrow 10-3 then the grandparents will be over because the parentals are going to PINEHURST without me! Anyways, I'll prolly end up cooking for the g'rents because I have nothing better to do. Then once again working most of the day Saturday but then I'm heading to Ferndale.

Why Ferndale you ask? Well I am going to meet my roommate from last year and then we are going to Canada!!! Planning on staying there the whole night and drinking..err..Sprite, as well going to the casino and ripping off the Canadians with by utilizing their awesome exchange rate. Looking to meet up with some of my CMU ladies: Allison, Hilary, Renee.. you know the whole bunch. Most definitely going to be an awesome night, check back for an update on how the night went! (Also if anyone feels adventurous wants to venture to Windsor that night, feel free to hit up my cell and we can hook up)

My day off :-)

Today was my only day off from work this week so I tried to enjoy it. Lazed around all morning and played with the dog because he always bugs me to play. Had a doctors appointment in the afternoon and the doc says I'm a healthy kid which is always good to hear. I then went across the street to the Nextel service center to see if they could fix my phone because it wouldn't charge. They took it to the back and cleaned everything and now it works great. By the way, I asked the service guy and he said the new i830 model phone will be coming out in three weeks and the i930 phone will be out in September so look out for that. The i830 is supposed to be similar to the i730 color phone but much slimmer than any of the models that Nextel has come out with (most nextel phones are referred to as "bricks"). Can't wait!

Had a historic bike ride last night; some of the old D and D crew came out, Paterson, Scotty, Mitchell, Ceej, Paiva, Seigal, had about 8 guys total. Definitley a very muddy ride. Hopefully going biking again tonight if it doesn't rain like it has been the past few days. Guess I'll just have to deal with it, Michigan never can make up its mind with the weather.

First week home is officially over

One week ago I was moving all of my junk back into the house and mostly into my room where the thought of unpacking gave me a headache. Most normal people would be unpacked by now and on with their life, but yea, not me, I haven't even thought about it. I really don't care, I mean the stuff is just going to be packed up all again in 3 months anyways.

Pretty much worked and biked all week, clocked in a bunch of 10 hour shifts at the bike shop to kick the summer off. Lot of new mountain bike sales this year, just as I predicted. Trying to get out riding as much as I can to get in shape for my cruise in a few months!

Heard some news the other day that there are plans for a new phone release from Nextel in the middle of the summer of their much anticipated camera phone, the i930 model. It looks to be based on the Smartphone 2003 platform and comes with a large internal 65k color screen. There is also mentions of a SDIO memory card slot which would be the first I have ever seen in a phone before. Can't wait to buy it in the fall when the prices will start to drop (initial prices of their new phones are usually around $400).

Home for the Summer

Finally back from CMU and all unpacked for the summer. What stressful day yesterday moving everything out of the dorms and coming home, definitley glad that is all over with. I am sad too, though, I miss everyone from Central already and it will be different going back next year and seeing all new faces. My depart from CMU was bittersweet, its most definitley nice to be home but also hard to leave all the fun times and memories in the past. Looking forward to visiting everyone over the summer!

Went for my first bike ride of the year today at Maybury, it was nice to get out on the bike again. DNR made a lot of nice changes to the trail this year which made it longer and definitley more challenging. A few new switchbacks were added and a huge new uphill towards the end of the trail makes it much more difficult than what it used to be.

After the ride, I took my two sisters to see the new Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movie, New York Minute. And I know all of you are probably wondering why I went to see that type of movie. Well, I knew my sisters wanted to see it so I thought it would be a nice gesture and plus it was a chance for some good sibling bonding time. I then went out to dinner at Western with my grandparents and family who I hadn't seen in a while.

Mother's day tomorrow, so the family has a brunch planned and then I'll probably hit the trails again. Its my summer goal to ride at least once a day, we'll see how that goes! Then its back to work at the bike shop on Monday, 40 hours a week here I come!

End of the year get together at Katie's house

Got a gang togther this evening for a nice dinner put on by Katie's parents, which was very nice. Consisted of great burgers, along with taco salad, pasta salad, and many other good side dishes. The meal was immediately followed by the guys finding out that they had pellet hand guns, so we all jumped on the chance to play with those (go to media, then photos, to check out the pics). I must say that Katie's brother sure held his own for only being 15, he anilated all of us! Nonetheless it was one of the funnest nights I have had in a long time. It was a really good end to the semester and was really glad I could be a part of it. It seems like my relationships with people here on my floor get better by the day, its really cool; too bad we will all be leaving soon. Anyways, dinner and the get together at her place was followed up by just some good quality hang out time in the dorms with people and the roomie, most definitley a good time.

For tomorrow, have a speech about golf etiquette at 2 the its a fun afternoon of golfing and hangin out with the roomie. Then I'm officially done with CMU for the year! Yay! :-) Really excited to go home but the sadness is starting to set in that I'm actually going to be leaving this place.

Well, bout time to pass out now, gotta work on a speech in the morning. Night.

*Theme song to the movie Jaws*

Its that time again... where has the semester gone? Seems like we were just getting started and trying to get used to our new schedules and unfamiliar teachers. Today marks the day for people who don't know, the offical start of CMU Finals week. Joy and exhilaration for some people; fear, despair, and nervousness for almost all of the others. I must tell you, I am definitley one of the others. It seems like most of my teachers feel the need to put a huge weight on the final exam where as I really don't see the need. In all of my classes, we have had many tests and papers which have shown to you once already that we know the material you've "taught" us, so why must we endure this kind of stress and struggle to try and do it all over again in a "cumulative" sort of fashion? Especially when we have been tested on this material once, then again on mid-terms, and now again on the final? Some things I do not understand.

All this school talk is giving me a headache; on a lighter note, while this is exams week, it is also the pack up and leave week... yes thats right.. home!! Looks like I will be departing the MTP sometime Friday morning after furiously packing all my crap into the car. Most definitley looking forward to going home, it will be a nice break from the "routine" here at school. Looks like it has been a successful first year here at CMU, and looking forward to an even better one next year. With that said, check back here in the future, I am working on a photo slideshow for the year.. should be good.
